Future Leaders Program in 2018

Are you a youth aged 15-30 years old? Would you like learn valuable skills to prepare for the Canadian job market and earn credentials recognized by local employers? You might be eligible for the Future Leaders program run by DIVERSEcity in Surrey. This 16-week program will provide you with unique opportunities to gain experience and skills.

Key Program Outcomes:

·         Learn valuable life skills

·         Prepare for the Canadian Job Market

·         Earn Employer Recognized Credentials

·         16 weeks of paid employability skills and work experience


·         Youth between the ages of 15-30 years old

·         Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, Protected Person or Refugee

·         Legally entitled to work in Canada

·         Unemployed or Underemployed (working 20 hours or less per week)

·         Not on EI or Eligible for EI or reach back

·         Able to commit to the entirety of the program


STREAM A: Group Based Employability Skills and Work Experience

·         Gain 6 weeks of group based Job Search , Career Planning and Life Skills Workshops

·         Work placement for 10 weeks with an entry level position in retail and/or food sector

·         Certification in Customer Service, Food Safe, WHMIS, Serving it Right and First Aid

·         Receive Completion Bonus after 16 weeks of program

STREAM B: Individual Skills Enhancement, Post-Secondary Training Courses and Work Experience

·         Up to 12 weeks of Post-Secondary Training Courses from a recognized institution

·         One on One Coaching for Career Exploration and Employability Skills

·         Financial support for Tuition, Living Allowance, and a Completion Bonus

·         12 Weeks of post training Work placement

·         Prepare for the Canadian job market
