Community Involvement:

I was volunteering in Surrey Museum, explaining to children the history of Surrey, including who the pioneers were who established our city.

Interest in the Advisory:

I became interested in the Advisory Roundtable because it is a great opportunity to be involved in our community and contribute my efforts in making Surrey a cosmopolitan city.

Immigrant challenges:

One of the biggest challenges for immigrants in Canada is learning how to communicate with people from different cultures. Another challenge is to learn how to raise your children in this new culture. Yet, another challenge is to learn how to not being “stuck” in your ethnic community and prevent yourself from isolation due to language challenges.

Vision for Surrey:

My vision of the welcoming and inclusive Surrey is where we will be strong and healthy individuals physically and psychologically. This will only happen if we support each other, involve in different activities and don't hesitate to express ourselves.
