Immigrant Employment Council of BC

The Immigrant Employment Council of BC (IEC-BC) is a not-for-profit organization that provides BC employers with a range of solutions, tools, and resources they need to attract, hire, and retain qualified immigrant talent.

If you are an employer or professional who is willing to help newcomers expand their knowledge and networks, please consider getting involved in one of the following programs:

  • Connector Program is a simple and effective referral program that helps new immigrants build professional networks and connect with local job opportunities, while increasing employers’ access to top-tier talent who may not make it in through regular recruiting channels. This national, award-winning program has been replicated in 12 cities across Canada.
  • Mentor Connect Program brings together skilled immigrants and established professionals in occupation-specific mentoring relationships. Skilled immigrants entering the program have the education, experience and language skills to succeed in the Canadian labour market. However, they may not understand the Canadian context of their profession, workplace culture, or know how to translate their skill sets. Often what they need are the local insights and access to professional networks that a one-on-one connection with a local mentor can offer.
