The Surrey Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) is looking for newcomer immigrant wmen to join the Surrey Immigrant Women Advisory Table (IWAT).  

It’s a volunteer roundtable for immigrant women from diverse backgrounds. It’s a space to engage in the community and advise the Surrey LIP council on ways newcomer women can better navigate their post arrival journey in the community and guide the council on supports and opportunities needed in Surrey to foster social and economic integration. 

As an IWAT member, you will: 

• Guide the council on supports and services for immigrant women in the community. 
• Develop and implement advocacy and social innovation projects to influence decision-making and address issues to improve the integration of newcomer immigrant women in Surrey. 
• Bring your lived experiences perspectives and insights to build a welcoming and inclusive community.  
• Serves as a community champion 

Eligibility: 

• Residents of surrey 
• Newcomer immigrant who identify as women 
• Open to learning and collaborating 
• Can commit to monthly meetings and working group engagements
