ISSofBC Welcome Centre - Surrey: a service mall for newcomers
Friday, October 12, 2018

After 14 years of service delivery in Surrey, ISSofBC is designating a space to bring together essential services for immigrants and refugees under one roof.

The ISSofBC Welcome Centre - Surrey, to be opened in the Guildford area in late Fall – will provide services delivered by ISSofBC and its co-located partners. ISSofBC services include multilingual settlement services, HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) and employment services. Services to be delivered by co-located partners include primary health care clinic, refugee claimant services (SOS), trauma counselling (VAST) and banking support (Vancity).

To be managed by Ewa Karczewska, a highly-experienced ISSofBC manager, the Surrey facility’s operations build on the successful integrated service delivery model of the ISSofBC Welcome Centre in Vancouver, which opened in 2016 as the first facility of its kind in the world.
