DIVERSEcity Skills Training Center offering Bank Teller Training

The Skills Training Centre at DIVERSECity Community Resources Society is offering Bank Teller Training beginning next Tuesday, May 23 and running until Thursday, May 25.

This training session is considered a foundation to start an entry level career in the banking industry in Canada and provides a heightened understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a Bank Teller. Each session include a guest speaker from a banking institution.

The ideal learning outcomes for each participant include the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the financial services industry; an understanding of Canadian banking policies, procedures, and compliance; an overview and understanding of financial transactions, products and services; an overview of the Canadian banking systems and regulations; training in cheque cashing, cash handling, and balancing procedures; training in security procedures and protocol; skills in identifying counterfeit currency and fraud prevention; training in customer services and sales; and an overview and understanding of Financial Services Representative duties and responsibilities.
