Surrey Newcomer Employment Week - NEW - is coming to Surrey from October 21 - 27, 2017. Over 35 events are being hosted by multiple organizations throughout the city from career fairs, mock interview sessions to open houses and networking events.

WHAT: All activities aim to build better bridges between employers and immigrant job seekers and employment service providers with an ultimate goal to improve newcomer economic integration in Surrey. Over 18 partners participate in Surrey NEW and many events are organized in collaboration between two or more service providers and other stakeholders.

If you participate in Surrey NEW events, please tell us about your experiences - participate in Surrey NEW evaluation - and enter the draw for a chance to win prizes.

WHO: Surrey NEW is organized by Surrey Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) in collaboration with key initiative partners - Surrey Board of Trade, Immigrant Employment Council of BC and Vancity. Surrey LIP was formed in 2014 to bring multiple stakeholders to work together towards more inclusive and welcoming Surrey -  a city where newcomers have opportunities to fully participate in and contribute to their community.

SHARE YOUR STORY: As a part of Surrey NEW initiative, Share Your Story campaign was launched to encourage employers and newcomers share their stories about how Canadian employers benefited from hiring immigrants and refugees.
