Indigenous / Refugee Youth Celebration & Workshops: Building Solidarity Between Communities

  • Date: Saturday, January 27,2018
  • Place: Kwantlen First Nation Cultural Building (23907 Gabriel Lane, Fort Langley)
  • Lunch will be provided
  • Bus will be leaving from Surrey City Hall at 9:00 am (13450 104 Ave, Surrey)

The Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association (FRAFCA) and the Surrey Refugee Youth Team are bringing together Indigenous and Refugee youth for a day of sharing, learning, and feasting!

The workshops and celebration will take place at Kwantlen First Nation Cultural Building in Fort Langley, with free transportation from Surrey City Hall and a free feast for lunch!

Refugee youth will learn all about the history and cultural of Indigenous people in Canada and share a feast of both traditional Coast Salish and Syrian food!

Workshops / Activities include:

  • Indigenous Worldview
  • Empowering Women
  • Mapping our Journeys
  • Feasting and Sharing
  • Art/Nature Activities
